There's certainly a lot to be said for not shielding kids (particularly older kids) from all the crap that goes on - pets die, kids get cancer, people start wars, Dad gets cancer three times and the third time kills him (happened to mine, and I wasn't any happier about it at 35 than I would have been at 14), but that's a different level of crapitude than, say, giving Child 2 three lumps of ice cream and Child 1 and Child 2 only one each. That said, I really don't think it matters if Billy gets food first one time, George the next, and then the third time it's Billy again when it should have been Holly, especially not if it's inadvertent.<br />Jeff Joshua Rollinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14849300102363934437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18065245.post-7937823470806717992017-07-19T07:14:00.647-06:002017-07-19T07:14:00.647-06:00They do well when the dice aren't applicable. ...They do well when the dice aren't applicable. They understand that the dice are just a convention for reducing overhead on trivial decisions. For serious matters, we discuss as a family and come to a conclusion. For some decisions, we use modernballots.com and run a Schulze election. They enjoy that game too.mndrixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00943372190551332722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18065245.post-47304998527243506082017-07-18T08:28:24.006-06:002017-07-18T08:28:24.006-06:00I really like this idea.
